Wildlife Dept to research and probe elephant killings in the country

The Department of Wildlife Conservation has decided to conduct a research to investigate into the killing of elephants in the country.

According to the Director General ,Chandana Sooriyabandara, many issues have arisen as no investigations have been conducted regarding the killing of elephants since 2010.

He further emphasised that accordingly, research would be carried out next year, 2018. The Director General said that it would give more opportunity to protect the country’s wild elephant species.
