Over 25% of school children in SL study in hunger: Study reveals

A recent research shows that 30% of school children in Sri Lanka engage in their studies in hunger, without having proper breakfast.

According to the study conducted by the National Medical Research Institute, the main reasons for this situation is the lack of understanding and recklessness of parents and children.

According to the National Medical Research Institute consultant, Dr. Renuka Jayatissa, this condition can be seen among school children in Colombo and its suburbs.

The study also reveals that children consume water much below the required amount.
