The Director of Colombo North Teaching Hospital in Ragama confirmed that 8 inmates who died in the unrest have posthumously tested positive for Covid-19.
11 inmates had died during the unrest.
107 including two prison officials sustained injuries.
Rapid Antigen Tests carried out on the hospitalized inmates confirmed that a total of 38 hospitalized inmates are positive for Covid-19.
