An artist has been sentenced to 36 years of rigorous imprisonment. He has been charged with sexually abusing an underage boy at a Buddhist temple. The incident had taken place at the Rajamaha Viharaya in Thalawa.
Investigations revealed that the suspect had abused the child on multiple occasions within the temple.
The suspect is reported to have sexually abused the child between 1st-30th June 2013.

The suspect has been convicted on 6 different counts by the Court. He was also ordered to pay an amount of Rs 50,000 to the victim.
