The JVP says actions by self-centred individuals have plunged the country into a deep crisis.
Speaking during a media briefing held at the party headquarters Chief Secretary of the JVP Tilvin Silva said if the present power struggle continues, the country will experience a grave downfall.
Silva noted the political gamble has tarnished the country’s image adding the actions of several people who are power hungry have negatively affected the country’s future and image.
Chief Secretary Tilvin Silva added that the President has failed to deliver on his promises and said the Head of State must work in accordance with the Constitution of the country.
He stressed if Maithripala Sirisena had trump cards he could have claimed victory within the two weeks adding all trump cards backfired.
Tilvin Silva said the only trump card the President has in hand is to dissolve Parliament and he is struggling as he cannot use it.
