Minister of Tourism and Wildlife, Vasantha Senanayake, who crossed over from the United National Party (UNP) and joined the President Maithripala Sirisena’s government accepting a cabinet minister post has stated that he will withdraw from his post after meeting the President.
Minister Vasantha Senanayake told media that he was going to resign from his ministerial portfolio shortly and he would submit the resignation letter to the President.
MP Suresh Vadivel, who was appointed as the State Minister of Plantation Industries of the new Cabinet by President Maithripala Sirisena has also stated that he will resign from his post and rejoin the UNP.
