Former Minister AHM Fowzie has been acquitted from a case that was filed in relation to the misuse of a state vehicle owned by the Disaster Management Centre.
The former United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP is accused of misusing a state vehicle and incurring a loss to the government
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption filed a case against Fowzie over the matter in 2016.
The case was filed against Fowzie for the alleged possession and use of a vehicle owned by the Disaster Management Centre, while serving in the capacity of Minister of Disaster Management from 2010 to 14.
Former Minister was acquitted after the Bribery Commission informed the court it has decided to withdraw the case reserving its rights to file a fresh indictment later.
