The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) says no approval has been given to increase the price of wheat flour in Sri Lanka, while companies have not been given permission to increase prices on their own.
Prima Ceylon (Pvt) Limited announced On Friday (04) that they have decided to increase the price of wheat flour by Rs 12 with immediate effect, while the CAA was not informed of this decision.
Legal action will be initiated against Prime Ceylon (Pvt) for increasing the price of wheat flour without authorization, the CAA noted.
