Aeroflot plans to restart direct services on October 3, offering Sri Lanka’s tourism businesses another opening ahead of the winter season.
Aeroflot is scheduled to resume flights between Moscow and Colombo on October 3, initially operating twice weekly. Russian Ambassador Levan Dzhagaryan said the frequency would subsequently increase, although a timetable for that expansion was not specified.
The airline suspended the service on May 17 during the low season. Its planned return is timed for winter travel and should make Sri Lanka more accessible to Russian holidaymakers considering a direct flight.
