Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) member and Minister of Industries Wimal Weerwansa has gone into self isolation after several of the Police officers deployed as his security personnel had tested positive for COVID-19.
“As I have been identified as a close associate of the infected officers it is my responsibility to self-isolate,” he said.
MP Weerawansa will be self isolating himself for 14 days starting Thursday (29 July).

Even though his office at the Ministry of Industries will be temporarily closed for a period of two weeks, MP Weerawansa said that the Ministry’s activities will continue without interruption.
