President Maithripala Sirisena has sought the support of the Indian Army in order to eradicate the drug menace.
The Head of State made this request when the Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army General Bipin Rawat, who is currently in the island on an official visit, called on the President this morning.
The training of intelligence units and a programme to share technical knowledge between the two countries was also discussed during the meeting.
General Bipin Rawat during the talks stressed on the importance of strengthening intelligence units of the two countries for national and regional security and requested the support of the Lankan government in this regard.
