“Multiple casualty situation” reported after shots were fired at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis, according to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Spokesperson Officer Genae Cook.
She added that the gunman has died and the public is not believed to be in immediate danger.
The Police briefly closed Interstate 70 near the airport in both directions, Sgt. John Perrine of the Indiana State Police wrote on Twitter.
“We are aware of the tragic shooting at our FedEx Ground facility near the Indianapolis airport,” FedEx said in a statement.
“Safety is our top priority, and our thoughts are with all those who are affected. We are working to gather more information and are cooperating with investigating authorities,” the company said
