Navy nabs man with heroin

The Navy in coordination with the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) nabbed a person with 2.1g of heroin in his possession in the town of Puttalam yesterday (04), stated the Sri Lanka Navy.

Accordingly, naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command in coordination with the officials of PNB in Puttalam conducted a joint search in the town area of Puttalam.

While searching a Vavuniya bound bus from Colombo, the officials managed to apprehend a person with 2.1g of heroin in his possession. The amount of heroin had been in 08 small packets.

The suspect has been identified as a resident of the Dematagoda area, aged 41.

Police Narcotic Bureau of Puttalam is conducting further investigation into the incident.
