The administration of the Peradeniya University has decided to close the entire University until further notice.
An announcement issued by Vice Chancellor Prof. Upul B Dissanayake said all faculties of the University of Peradeniya have been closed until further notice due to several administrative issues.
Accordingly, all resident students were asked to leave the university dormitories before 6:00 p.m. Friday.
The Vice Chancellor’s announcement says that due to the controversial situation emerged in the university, the administration has decided to conclude the academic activities. The administration has decided to give two months’ vacation to the students since Friday.
The Vice Chancellor of the Peradeniya University informed that discussions will be held regarding the date to resume academic activities.
