A woman was killed when a clash occured during a wedding reception in Madahapolayaya, Polpithigama on Wednesday, November 15.
According to the police, the clash broke out last evening when an argument had escalated, leaving four others injured.
The victim was a 48-year-old resident of Pothuwila, Polpithigama.

Police further stated that the individual who instigated the argument was also among the injured and is currently receiving treatment at the Polpithigama Hospital under police protection.
Two of the injured have been transferred to Kurunegala Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
