Due to a 24-hour token strike launched last night (18) by the Locomotive Engine Operators’ Union, the train service has been limited today (18).
The strike was launched based on several demands said the Secretary of the Union, Anura Peiris. The strike is being carried out as the discussions with the authorities failed.
According to the Railway Department steps have been taken to operate several office trains using other officials.
