Sri Lanka Monday introduced the environmentally friendly Euro 4 standard petrol (95 Octane) and super diesel to the market.
A ceremony in this respect was held at a filling station in Colombo under the patronage of Petroleum Resources Development Minister Arjuna Ranatunga. Deputy Minister Anoma Gamage was also present on the occasion.
At present, Sri Lanka imports Euro 4 standard cars and accordingly, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has introduced Euro 4 petrol and diesel as Euro 4 will help autos to perform better with less toxic emissions.
Euro 4 standard petrol (95 Octane) and super diesel will also be sold at the prevailing prices of Octane 95 petrol and super diesel at 148 rupees and 119 rupees per liter respectively.
