Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara says he is unaware of who wrote cheques to his name, which were revealed in Court to be from a company affiliated with Perpetual Treasuries Limited.
Speaking in Parliament MP Jayasekara said he used the cheque for election campaigning during the 2015 elections.
However MP Dayasiri Jayasekara said he was not a Parliamentarian at the time claiming he was serving as the Chief Minister of the North-Western Province.
The Parliamentarian noted several businessmen provide money for politicians during elections for election campaigning.
MP Dayasiri Jayasekara noted the Owner of Perpetual Treasuries Arjun Aloysius and his relatives have been his associates over a long period of time.
He said the relevant cheque however was not addressed to him adding it was a cash cheque.
The Parliamentarian said he inquired as to who issued the cheque adding he was not aware whether the cheque was signed by Arjun Aloysius or someone else.
MP Jayasekara stressed that there are several businessmen who support other Parliamentarians in the same manner and said he has all details of such individuals.
Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara requested for the remaining 3,000 pages of the report to be submitted in Parliament in order to reveal the names of those who accepted money from Arjun Aloysius.
