All-Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association President N.K.Jayawardena said that as of now they are receiving only 50 percent of the usual quantity of wheat flour.
Jayawardena said that as a result bread and roast bread are produced only on three days of the week, also said that there will be a shortage of bread and roast bread in the immediate future. He said that the Prima Company has said that they can provide adequate flour but that the lack of dollars is obstructing importing of flour and they receive only 10 percent of the dollars required.
