African National Congress prepares to choose new party leader

The African National Congress (ANC), Africa’s governing party is preparing to choose a new party leader to succeed President Jacob Zuma.

The main candidates are the current deputy president, Cyril Ramaphosa, and former cabinet minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, President Zuma’s ex-wife.

The winner is likely to succeed President Zuma as the South African President.

However, fears have arisen that due to the bitter leadership that ANC could split before the National Elections in 2019.
