1. UNP MP Hirunika Premachandra’s close supporters who were caught on CCTV cameras abducting a youth in a Defender Black Van plead Guilty, and given suspended sentences; Trial against Hirunika who pleaded Not Guilty fixed for 6th January 2018

2. Local Government Minister Faizer Mustafa, under whose watch Local Government elections have been delayed over 2 years, blames MR govt for the delay

3. Cardiologists have reportedly decided to stop heart operations at the Colombo National Hospital as operation theatres are not in a suitable condition

4. Elections Commission Chairman admits that there is no impediment to conducting elections to Local bodies unaffected by delimitation
