The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) has submitted a 05-point proposal on the preventive measures that could be taken by Sri Lankan authorities against the Omicron variant and other new Covid variants.
The proposal, compiled by a 12 member committee consisting of specialists from various medical fields, has been presented to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
The proposal has been compiled under the following five key criterias:
- Measures to face Omicron and new variants
- Defeating myths on vaccination and promoting booster dose
- Promoting testing facilities including self-testing
- Strengthening of Home-Based Care Management system
- Continuing Practice of DReAM Concept
