Malaysian PM launches Dialog Axiata Digital Innovation Fund in Sri Lanka

Malaysia launched the largest corporate digital venture capital fund in Sri Lanka on Tuesday to help Sri Lankan digital entrepreneurs expand their businesses.

Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is on a three-day official visit to Sri Lanka graced the launching ceremony of Dialog Axiata Digital Innovation Fund (DADIF) at the Dialog Axiata Headquarters in Colombo yesterday (Dec 19).

The US$15 million fund will be used for investing in Sri Lankan digital startups, to fund the expansion of game-changing, best-in-class digital businesses, the visiting Prime Minister said.

Noting the advancement Sri Lanka has achieved in telecommunication sector, Prime Minister Najib indicated further Malaysian investments interest in the sector.
