Governor of the Central Province Lalith Gamage has issued a Gazette Notification, removing Daljith Aluwihare from his post as Mayor of the Matale Municipal Council.
He was suspended from his duties for 3 months following a letter of complaint filed against him by other the Deputy Mayor and other Municipal Councillors.
Matale Deputy Mayor Sandanam Prakash has accordingly been vested with power to carry out the Mayor’s duties and exercise Mayoral authority in this regard.
