Nearly 600 staff members of the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) have been transferred with immediate effect.
The decision has been made after considering general complaints filed against the institution over soliciting bribes.
Accordingly, the employees will be transferred to Government offices.
Commissioner General of the DMT, Mr Sumith Alahakoon said the transfers are being carried out under several stages.
