UPFA General Secretary, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera says that reports about the President wanting a decision taken within seven days on whether the SLFP should remain in the government or not were complete lies.
He has told the media that all details about the matter could be known by Friday.
The Amaraweera has said, “No discussions have taken place with regard to a change in positions within the party. However, I told the President to give this position to any suitable clever person. I have no issue with that. Today over 50% of our party’s board of officials are members of the SLPP. We cannot continue our activities with them. Hence, we will appoint a temporary board of officials and then continue with the restructuring of the party.”
