Northern Province CTB bus drivers commence strike

Bus drivers attached to the Ceylon Transport Board (CTB) in the Northern Province, began a strike action this morning.

The strike action was launched demanding that two officers of the CTB be transferred.

Secretary of the Joint Workers Union, R. Chamadevan said, the strike action aims at ‘resolving these issues,’

When inquiries were made on the matter from the Chairman of CTB, he stated that the employees had launched the strike action without any prior notice.
