The government has also reduced prices of 5 kilogram and 2.3 kilogram LP gas cylinders in line with the reduction of the price of a 12.5 kilogram LP cylinder earlier.
Accordingly, price of 5 kilogram gas cylinder will be reduced by 55 rupees and 2.3 kilogram cylinder by 25 rupees. The price of a 12.5 kilogram of LP gas cylinder was reduced by 138 rupees with effect from June 30.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced that it has received reports of some unscrupulous traders still selling gas cylinders at older prices and raids are being carried out to nab the errant traders.
