SLTDA removes minimum room rate imposed on Colombo City Hotels

Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) stated that due to the severe hit on tourism industry following Easter Sunday attacks, they have decided to remove the minimum room rate (MRR) imposed on Colombo City Hotels effective immediately.

In a press release SLTDA stated furthermore, it is better for the market forces to decide the room rates rather than SLTDA dictating terms due to the prevailing situation.

The SLTDA also announced that the travel ban on visiting Sri Lanka implemented by China has now been lifted to just being “cautious” when traveling.
