The Ministry of Justice says that the setting up of a special court to take up cases involving large scale fraud and corruption is currently underway by the Department of Legal Draftsman.
According to the Secretary of the Department, Padmasiri Jayamanna, cabinet approval was received recently for the setting up of this special court.
The main aim of setting up the special court is to expedite the hearing of cases involving large scale of fraud and corruption in the country. This court will be installed at the Colombo High Court Complex.
