Over 2,000 phones seized by SL customs

Over 2,000 cell phones smuggled into the country were seized by Customs officials at the Bandaranayake International Airport on Tuesday morning.

The cell phones were in the possession of three Sri Lankans who arrived from China and Dubai.

According to customs officials, the phones were brought into the country without the permission of the telecommunications regulatory commission. Airport customs are conducting further investigations into the incident.
