6 housing schemes in Colombo district released from isolation

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, the Army Commander and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of Covid-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said 6 housing schemes in the Colombo district were released from isolation with effect at 6:00 am on Saturday (12).

Randiya Uyana in Mutuwal, Methsanda Uyana, Mihijaya Sevana in Modara, Muvadora Uyana & Samagipura in Grandpass, and Mihindusenpura in Dematagoda will be released from isolation.

On instructions of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, PCR tests were conducted on all the occupants in the housing schemes, while targeting every unit in the housing schemes.

The Army Commander said out of 5000 to 7000 people living in these flats, such as Randiya Uyana in Mutuwal, only 40 Covid-19 cases were detected in total.
