Two Indian nationals arrested at Sri Lanka’s Colombo airport with methamphetamine

Sri Lanka Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) unit at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) Friday arrested two Indian nationals attempting to smuggle in methamphetamine, also called ‘Ice’.

The PNB officers acting on information received have inspected a passenger arrived from India yesterday morning at the airport and during inspection found 30 grams of Ice carefully concealed in his undergarments.

Upon further investigations the suspect has revealed that another Indian national had given him the drugs. The second Indian national has arrived at Colombo airport from Chennai in the afternoon. He was in the possession of 10 grams of methamphetamine.

The two suspects, aged 41 and 44 will be produced before the Minuwangoda Magistrate Court today.

Police Narcotics Bureau is conducting further investigations.
