A student of a leading college in Colombo died, and eight others sustained injuries, in a motor accident along the Welikada Madinnagoda road.
According to Police, the cab that carried the victims had veered off the road and crashed against a building that was under construction.
Police further added that a debris of concrete had landed over them.
A spokesperson at the National Hospital said that eight students are currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital.
She further noted that two of the students are receiving treatment in the ICU, a student is undergoing surgery and that four of them have sustained serious injuries
