United States President, Donald Trump signed the Covid-19 relief and spending bill after delaying it for days, preventing a mid-pandemic government shutdown.
Trump released a statement last night (27) that he had signed the bill, saying it was his “responsibility to protect the people of our country from the economic devastation and hardship” caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell, applauded Trump’s actions.
I applaud the President’s decision to get billions of dollars of crucial COVID-19 relief out the door and into the hands of American families. I am glad the American people will receive this much-needed assistance as our nation continues battling this pandemic. My full statement: pic.twitter.com/YSPYsPu2ct
