A countrywide strike is staged by the Health Trade Union’s Collective, including nurses, today, November 22.
Seventeen trade unions are to participate in the strike. The strike is staged citing several demands including salary discrepancies and the backlog of overtime payments that need to be paid to health officials.
According to the Health Trade Union’s Collective representative Saman Rathnapriya, the strike will commence at 7:00 a.m today, November 21, and will continue until 7:00 a.m tomorrow.countrywide strike
