Following a tip, the Police Special Task Force (STF) conducted raids in the Matara and Gandara areas were discovered a large haul of equipment used to build powerful explosives.
Accordingly, a stock of ammonium nitrate, gelignite sticks, service threads, and other items were seized during the raid.
Two persons were arrested in connection to the incident, while preliminary investigations revealed that the explosives were stored under the guise of operating a quarry.
