Prisons must be subjected to reformation immediately, states former United National Party (UNP) General Secretary Tissa Attanayake.
He points out that, as the leader of the country, it is very important that the President paid a visit to the Welikada Prison.
Attanayake expressed these views while engaged in a discussion in Kandy.
Calling the Welikada Magazine Prison a ‘hell’, he said that it is good that the President understands its situation by visiting the place.
Attanayake pointed out that some inmates at the Welikada Prison are imprisoned for no reason.
