Parliamentarian Jayantha Ketagoda has handed over his resignation letter from his position of SLPP national list MP to the Secretary-General of Parliament.
Mr Ketagoda resigned to make way for former Minister Basil Rajapaksa to enter Parliament through the national list, the SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said.
According to Lankadeepa newspaper, the MP who was willing to resign for Basil Rajapaksa will be sent as SL’s High Commissioner to Australia.
