The National Child Protection Authority plans to launch an island-wide program called “Jana Pavura” to prevent child abuse in the country.
The main objective of this program is to identify child abuses and to take action accordingly. A team of representatives from existing societies and organizations in every village will be appointed and information on child abuses will be obtained through the team in the respective village.
The first program of the project was to be launched on Friday (29) but due to an inevitable reason the launch has been postponed to next month.
The program further expects the community to actively participate in ensuring that children are free from all sorts of abuses.
