Nobel Laureate, Dr. Barbara Lopes Cardozo is to visit Sri Lanka to conduct research on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) of war victims in the North.
Dr. Barbara Cardozo has served in many countries, and is a founding member of Doctors Without Borders-Holland. She won the Nobel Price award in the year 1999 and has treated victims of natural disasters and man-made disasters.
She is to visit the Northern Province, to observe incidence and cases of post-traumatic stress disorder. Her tour is scheduled from November 28 to December 1, 2017.
She will also participate in several meetings with specialists in the field of psychiatry and community medicine in Jaffna and is to meet the Health Minister of the Northern Province.
