Sri Lanka Police have clarified the groups who are permitted to cross provincial borders at present.
Only government employees, private sector employees who have been requested to report to work, and employees of essential services are allowed to cross the provincial thresholds, said the Police Media Spokesperson Senior DIG Ajith Rohana.
Those who are required to receive medical treatment and those traveling to attend funerals of their close relatives have also been permitted to travel between the provincial borders, while the police officials have been instructed to follow the regulations issued with regard to the inter-province travel ban, he further said.
