Speaker says the list of MPs who were in contact with Arjun Aloysius will be presented in parliament

Speaker of the Parliament Karu Jayasuriya said that a document with the list of MPs who have held telephone conversations with the former director of Perpetual Treasuries Limited (PTL) Arjun Aloysius will be presented in parliament within this week.

Speaker said that the names of the MPs mentioned according to the documents in the report of the Presidential Commission of Injury that investigated the Central Bank bond scam will also be revealed.

Mr. Jayasuriya said that he had requested the Secretary to the President to give him the list of names of the parliamentary memebers who had conversed with the owner of the Perpetual Treasuries.

However the Speaker said there was no list of MPs who had taken money from the Perpetual Treasuries director although some claim that there is a list of 118 MPs.

Earlier former minister and Kurunegala district UPFA parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara said in 2015 he received Rs. 1 million from a company affiliated with PTL for election campaign financing when he was the North Western Province Chief Minister before he was elected to the parliament and claimed that Arjun Aloysius had given money to 118 other people.
