The Premier was responding to a request made by the Joint Opposition MP Dinesh Gunawardena to enhance the former president’s security when participating at JO election rallies for the local government elections.

Prime Minister said the former president Rajapaksa has been provided with 154 security personnel that include an ASP, a Chief Inspector, 9 inspectors, 14 sub inspectors, 31 police sergeants, 2 female Sergeants, 4 Police Sergeant Drivers, 73 Police Constables, 14 Police Constable Drivers, 4 Female Police Constables and the necessary vehicles based on the threat level on his life.
