Admiral Ravi Wijegunaratne’s case at the Fort Magistrates Court was postponed yet again. This time round the Police stated that they need the opinion of the Attorney General to release the Admiral from the case.
Legal man Maithri Gunaratne who was also present in Court reminded the Police that to arrest the Admiral they did not consult the AG and yet they now state that to release the Admiral from these charges they wish to petition the AG for his opinion!
The case was adjourned until 12th February. Presumably the Admiral after 39 years of loyal service dedicated to the defense of this land will not get his pension until well after the 12th of Feb. The operative words would be after 39 years of patriotic service
