The Minister who is on a two-day official state visit to India met the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi.

Minister Basil Rajapaksa is in India to seek a US$ 1 billion credit line for Sri Lanka, which is in the midst of an economic crisis.
Sri Lanka intends to obtain the credit line in order to pay for essential items, including medicine, wheat flour, sugar, and rice.
