Education Ministry to increase allowances of teachers on ‘exam duty’

The Education Ministry has taken measures into consideration,  to increase allowances of teachers who attend examination duties.

Examination Commissioner General, Sanath Pujitha said that steps will be taken  to bring this increase into effect from next year.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner General added that action has been taken to widen examination observation activities to ensure that examination irregularities are minimised.

According to the Commissioner General, special supervision teams for 98 zones will be appointed for the upcoming GCE Ordinary Level Examinations.

The special supervision teams will be comprised of officers representing the Education Ministry, Department of Educational Publications and Provincial Education Department.
