In the wake of former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella failing to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) this morning, the former Minister has submitted a written plea requesting the CID to grant him another date to provide a statement.
The Minister, through the formal communication, has emphasized the importance of arranging an alternative date for the investigation to proceed smoothly.
In a statement, the Minister has assured authorities of his fullest cooperation and support for future investigative efforts.

In addition, a statement was recorded from Dr. Saman Ratnayake, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Health today (31).
With regard to the ongoing investigations related to the substandard Immunoglobulin scandal, several officials including former the Health Secretary and the Director of the Medical Supplies Division are currently in remand custody.
