One person has died while two others sustained injuries in a shootout at Beralihela area in Lunugamvehera police division.
The incident has reportedly taken place around 9.30 p.m. last night (16), according to the police media spokesperson’s office.
A heated argument among several persons, who were under the influence of alcohol, during a party held at a house had escalated the event.
A 27-year old youth has been killed in the incident.
The two injured persons were initially admitted to the Lunugamvehera hospital and later transferred to Hambantota hospital for further treatment.
Lunugamvehera Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
