United National Party Parliamentarian Kavinda Jayawardene says a Presidential Commission should be appointed to investigate the allegations levelled by The New York Times of a payment made by China Harbour organisation aiding former President Parliamentarian Mahinda Rajapaksa’s 2015 Presidential Campaign.
Speaking to the Media ,Jayawardene said all individuals who obtained foreign funds for election propaganda activities should be revealed.
The Parliamentarian stressed President Maithripala Sirisena has a major responsibility into probing the allegations.
MP Jayawardene noted the public should be informed of persons who obtained money and how it was utilised.
The Parliamentarian meanwhile accused the former regime of utilising funds obtained from other countries to stir controversies within the country with the aim of toppling the government.
